What this site does with your data
It keeps as little as possible. No analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels, no social-media buttons, no cookies set by me. Hosting is in Switzerland (Infomaniak, Geneva). The only third party that ever sees a visitor’s data is Infomaniak, for hosting and for sending the newsletter.
Contact form
What you type is sent to me by email and is not stored on this site. The email carries your message, the fields you filled in, your IP address, and the time, so I can tell a real message from spam. I keep the email as long as we are in conversation, or as long as the law requires if we work together.
Newsletter
Your email address goes to Infomaniak Newsletter (Switzerland), which sends a confirmation link first — nothing is sent until you click it. The address is used for the newsletter and nothing else. Every issue has a one-click unsubscribe that takes effect immediately, and unsubscribing deletes the address from the list. Infomaniak records basic delivery statistics; there is no tracking of what you read.
Plugins
Downloading a plugin from this site sends nothing but the download itself. An installed plugin checks this site about twice a day for a newer version, sending what WordPress sends to wordpress.org for any plugin: the site’s address, the plugin and WordPress versions, PHP version, and locale. I keep a record of which sites have a plugin installed, from those checks and from the server’s access log, so I know how many are in use. No plugin of mine collects or sends anything else — each readme says so.
Server logs
Infomaniak’s web server writes an access log (IP address, page requested, browser, time) as every web server does. It is used for security and for the plugin count above, and is kept for up to 12 months.
Dark mode
Your Dark/Light choice is remembered in your own browser and never sent anywhere.
